The Teaching Palette : http://theteachingpalette.com/category/blog/ is a blog for Art Teachers and anyone else interested in in depth art projects and instruction. This blog is filled with a crazy mixture of resources from building your own custom spinner to use as an aid for classroom management to
K-5 lesson plans . One such lesson plan for K was " What can you do with a dot?" (http://theteachingpalette.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/What-Can-You-Do-With-A-Dot.pdf)
This was such a great lesson that sparked the kids imagination by giving them a small item and asking them to transform it into something else. I feel this is a wonderful resources where many teachers have come together to build and maintain a wonderful reservoir of teaching resources.

The Teaching Palette is a website about art education. It has a lot of creative information for teachers. There is a classroom management tab that has an idea for creating a spinner to use for clean-up, transition periods, and positive reinforcement. It gives ideas on creating an art themed classroom. It has information on whole brain teaching, a clean-up map, how to survive kindergarten, odd art jobs, and suggestions on 30 best I Phone apps. It also has a list of art lesson plans. It has a tab that shows “cool + creative” art projects. I think that this website is very beneficial for teachers because it shows how to integrate art into the classroom in ways that will peak the students’ curiosity in other subjects.
I love art and love finding new and creative ways to implement art within the classroom. I think this site does a great job of giving teachers a variety of new and fresh ideas so that they can instill a love of art in their children.
